About

Danae Ripley Born in Rangiora, Aotearoa New Zealand, 1995. Lives and works in London.

Style

Danae Ripley’s work situates the human form within interior arenas. She works from observational drawings and frames enigmatic figures within (somewhat) public spaces. She is interested in the uncanny moments an individual has in public life. By employing shadows, doubles and causative relationships, she evokes experiences of being overwhelmed, unsettled and seeking calm.
